Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using SaveReceipts at savereceipts.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of service

SaveReceipts is a web application that allows users to photograph or upload receipt images and save them to their personal Google Drive account. Pro subscribers additionally benefit from AI-powered data extraction and project-based expense tracking via Google Sheets.

The Service requires a Google account. By using the Service, you also agree to Google's Terms of Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use SaveReceipts. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. Account and access

Access to SaveReceipts is granted via Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. You agree to notify us immediately at hello@savereceipts.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at our sole discretion, including for violations of these Terms.

5. Free and Pro plans

5.1 Free plan

Free accounts may upload up to 25 receipts per calendar month. This limit resets at the start of each new calendar month. Upload counts are tracked locally in your browser. Free accounts include manual data entry and Google Drive filing.

5.2 Pro plan

Pro accounts are available for €25 per year (or the price displayed at the time of purchase). Pro accounts include unlimited uploads, AI-powered receipt data extraction, project creation, and automatic Google Sheets logging.

Pro subscriptions are billed annually and renew automatically unless cancelled. Payment is processed by Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We reserve the right to change Pro pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

5.3 Refunds

We offer a full refund within 14 days of your initial Pro purchase if you are not satisfied. To request a refund, email hello@savereceipts.com within 14 days of purchase. Renewals are non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload content that is unlawful, fraudulent, or that infringes any third party's intellectual property rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service beyond your own account
• Circumvent usage limits or access controls (e.g. manipulating upload counters)
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose other than your own personal or business expense tracking
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code through the Service
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law

7. Your content and data

You retain full ownership of all receipt images, data, and files you create or upload through SaveReceipts. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

By using the Service, you grant us only the limited, technical permissions necessary to deliver the Service — for example, to transmit your receipt image to Anthropic's API for extraction on your behalf (Pro only). These permissions are non-exclusive, revocable, and used solely to operate the Service.

All your files are stored in your own Google Drive and Google Sheets. We have no independent copy of your data. Deleting your files from Google Drive removes them entirely.

8. Third-party services

SaveReceipts integrates with third-party services including Google (authentication, Drive, Sheets), Anthropic (AI extraction for Pro), Stripe (payments), and Netlify (hosting). Your use of these services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

9. AI-generated data (Pro)

The AI extraction feature uses Anthropic's Claude model to read receipt images and return structured data. While this feature is designed to be accurate, AI extraction may occasionally produce errors, omissions, or misreadings. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any extracted data before relying on it for financial, tax, or accounting purposes. SaveReceipts does not provide accounting, tax, or financial advice.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-extracted data.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SaveReceipts and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or financial losses arising from reliance on AI-extracted data.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €25, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SaveReceipts and its operators harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland, except where consumer protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.

14. Changes to the service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where possible. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
