How SaveReceipts works
Sign in with Google — tap "Get started free" and connect your Google account. No separate password needed.
Upload a receipt — take a photo, select from your camera roll, or drag a PDF into the app.
Choose a folder — browse your real Google Drive folder tree and pick where to save it.

No install required. SaveReceipts is a Progressive Web App — open savereceipts.com/app in any browser. On iPhone, tap Share → Add to Home Screen for a full-screen app experience.
Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on any device. Camera access requires a modern mobile browser (Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android). The Web Clipper extension requires Chrome or any Chromium-based browser.
Free accounts get 20 uploads per calendar month. This resets at the start of each month. Pro accounts are unlimited — see pricing.
Yes. Sign in with the same Google account on any device. Your receipts live in Google Drive, so they're accessible everywhere. Pro status syncs automatically across devices via your account.
Drive access & file storage
We request three things: (1) your name and email to show in the app, (2) Google Drive — write-only, only to folders you select or create, (3) Google Sheets — Pro only, to create and update your expense sheet. We never read, modify, or delete files you didn't create with SaveReceipts.
You choose the folder. The app shows your real Drive folder tree and you pick where each receipt lives. The Web Clipper extension saves to a SaveReceipts/ folder at the top level of your Drive, creating it if it doesn't exist.
Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove SaveReceipts. This immediately ends all access to your Drive. Your existing files are untouched — they remain in Drive under your full control.
The main app saves your original image (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, or PDF) unchanged. The Web Clipper extension saves receipts as a plain-text .txt file containing the merchant, date, total, order number, and line items.
Pro accounts & billing
Pro gives you: unlimited uploads, AI-powered receipt data extraction (merchant, total, date, line items), project folders with automatic Google Sheets logging, and access to the Web Clipper Chrome extension. It's €25/year — less than €2/month.
Open the app, tap the settings icon (top right), and choose Upgrade to Pro. Payment is handled by Stripe — your card details never touch our servers.
Email hello@savereceipts.com and we'll cancel within one business day. You keep Pro access until the end of your paid period. You can also manage your subscription directly in the Stripe billing portal.
Yes — full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. Email hello@savereceipts.com with the subject "Refund request" and we'll process it within one business day.
Sign out of the extension and sign back in — Pro status syncs from your account on sign-in. If you just upgraded, allow up to a minute for it to propagate. If the problem persists, email us with your Google account address.
Chrome extension setup & use
The Web Clipper automatically detects order confirmation pages (Amazon, eBay, Shopify stores, etc.) in Chrome and lets you save them to your Google Drive + Sheets with one click. It's a Pro feature.
The extension is currently in limited release. Open the app → Web Clipper screen for the latest install link. Once installed, sign in with your Google account (the same one as your Pro subscription) and the extension is ready.
The extension scans for order confirmation signals on any page — it looks for keywords like "order confirmed", "thank you for your purchase", and typical receipt data patterns. It works on most e-commerce confirmation pages. If a site isn't being detected, email us and we'll investigate.
Sign out and sign back in — this refreshes the Google OAuth token. Make sure to click Allow on the full consent screen (both Drive and Sheets permissions). If it still happens, disable and re-enable the extension in chrome://extensions, then sign in again.
Files go to a SaveReceipts/ folder in your Google Drive root. A row is also added to the Google Sheet for your current project (set via the "set project" tag in the extension popup). Default project is My Receipts.
Your data & our servers
No. Receipt images are sent directly from your browser to your Google Drive. They never pass through or land on our servers. The only data we hold is your email address and Pro subscription status — nothing financial.
Pro only. Your receipt image is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis — it returns the extracted text (merchant, total, date, line items) and the image is not retained by Anthropic beyond the API call. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels. The app uses browser localStorage only, which stays on your device. We don't know what receipts you save or when you use the app. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Three steps: (1) revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions, (2) clear site data for savereceipts.com in your browser settings, (3) delete any Drive/Sheets files you created. Email us to delete your account record.
Common issues

| Camera not working on iPhone | Settings → Safari → Camera → Allow. Make sure you're using Safari (not Chrome) on iOS for camera access. |
| Upload limit not resetting | Counts reset at the start of each calendar month based on local time. Clear site data if the counter seems stuck. |
| AI extraction returning wrong data | Use a well-lit, straight-on photo. Blurry or angled images reduce accuracy. You can always edit extracted fields before saving. |
| Extension not detecting receipt | Some pages load content dynamically — wait 2–3 seconds after the page loads, then click the extension icon to re-scan. |
| Google Sheet not created | Set a project name in the extension popup (tap "set project"). The sheet is created on your first successful save per project. |
